Veranda lighting ideas

Veranda lighting

Built a new veranda and only the lighting is missing? You’re in the right place. At Lampgigant you’ll find everything to finish the look— from subtle recessed lighting to sleek surface-mounted fixtures.

Small recesses or finished ceilings? Choose the right size

Many verandas need mini recessed spots so they fit neatly into the veranda beams. If your beams are wider, or your veranda ceiling is finished with panels, your choice is larger: recessed spots from Ø 6–20 cm are all possible.

Lighting under a canopy (overkapping)

Recessed spots are the most popular choice under a canopy. They save space, prevent head bumps from a low-hanging lamp, and deliver a clean, integrated look. Which model suits you depends mainly on the beam width and available recess depth.

Surface-mounted veranda lighting

Compact, water-resistant surface-mounted spots (from IP23 and up) are a modern favourite. Unlike recessed spots, you don’t need to drill large holes—most models include a handy mounting bracket for quick installation and a tidy finish.

IP rating: match protection to the location

The IP rating indicates how well a fixture resists dust and water. Choose the protection level to match exposure:

- IP20 – Dry, sheltered areas with no water contact.
- IP44+ – Damp locations or where splashes may occur (recommended for most verandas).
- IP65+ – Direct water jets or heavy exposure.
- IP67+ – Temporary immersion (e.g., garden/pond use rather than veranda, but useful as a robustness reference).

Plug & Play veranda lighting in roof beams

As a starting point for our plug & play veranda sets, use the guideline below:

Number of beams Room width Recommended recessed spots
3 3 m 6
4 3 m 8
5 3 m 10
6 3 m 12

Tip: Treat these numbers as a baseline—adjust for beam spacing, desired brightness, and where you want focal points (e.g., above a lounge set or dining table).

Shop veranda lighting

Finishing your veranda? For recessed and surface-mounted lighting you’ll often want mini recessed spots so they sit nicely inside the beams. With wider beams or a panelled ceiling, you can choose from a broader range (Ø 6–20 cm). Explore the categories below and then filter by colour and material.

Quick planning tips

- Keep glare low and aim light away from neighbours’ windows.
- Warm white (≈2700–3000K) creates a cozy evening vibe; neutral white (≈4000K) feels more modern and functional.
- Consider smart controls or sensors for convenience and energy savings.
- When in doubt on IP or installation, consult a qualified installer.
