Olucia Quick Connect

Olucia Quick Connect connection system

The Olucia Quick Connect connection system is designed to make connecting lighting simple and efficient. Whether you want to install recessed spotlights, outdoor lights or other lighting, this system makes the process much easier. The main advantage of the Quick Connect system is that it is plug-and-play; the parts simply screw together.

How does the Olucia Quick Connect system work?

To easily connect a light to the power supply, you need 3 components:
 - Plug or power cable
 - Splitter
 - Lamp holder or cable with junction box.

Step 1. Plug or cable

As the starting point of the system, you can choose a plug or a cable with junction box. You either insert the plug into the socket or connect the cable to the junction box. For outdoor lighting, it is also possible to start with a waterproof junction box that you connect to the power supply.

 - EU plug with 2.5 metre cable and male connector (q10251)
For direct connection to the socket.

 - 20 centimetre cable with male connector (q10253)
This cable connects to the junction box in the consumer unit.

 - IP68 junction box with 15 centimetre cable and male connector (q10254)
Waterproof protection for connecting outdoor lighting.

Step 2. Splitter

With the Olucia Quick Connect splitters, you can connect multiple lights to one power point. The splitters are available in the following versions: 2-way splitter (q10257), 3-way splitter (q10258), 5-way splitter (q10259) and 8-way splitter (q10260).

Would you like to connect a different number of lights than shown above? Then you can easily combine the splitters. For example, do you want to connect 6 lights? Use a 5-way splitter and a 2-way splitter. This allows you to split one of the 5 outputs into 2 outputs again.

Step 3. Connection to the light

You connect the splitter to a connection on the light. This can be done with a lamp holder for a bulb or with a junction box or cable to the fitting or an LED module.

Indoor lighting:

 - Female connector with 15 centimetre cable and GU10 lamp holder (q10261)
Suitable for GU10 LED spotlights.

 - Female connector with 15 centimetre cable and GU5.3 lamp holder (q10262)
Suitable for GU5.3 LED spotlights.

 - Female connector with IP20 junction box (q10263)
Suitable for LED modules.

Outdoor lighting:

 - Female connector with waterproof IP68 junction box (q10806)
Suitable for outdoor lights.

 - Female connector with 50 centimetre cable (q10255)
Suitable for lights with a terminal block in the fitting.

 - Female connector with 3 metre cable (q10256)
Suitable for lights with a terminal block in the fitting.

Optional: Extend the cable

Would you like to extend the length of the Olucia Quick Connect system? With an extension cable, you can easily connect and extend lighting to the power supply or other cables. The extension cables are available in the following lengths: 1 metre cable (q10246), 2 metre cable (q10247), 5 metre cable (q10248), 10 metre cable (q10249) and 25 metre cable (q10250).

How do you connect the Olucia Quick Connect system?

In the example below, you can see how to connect 5 lights using the Olucia Quick Connect connection system. Below, we distinguish between connecting indoor lighting and outdoor lighting.

Indoor lighting example for connecting 5 recessed spotlights:

First, connect the plug to a 2-way splitter. Connect a GU10 lamp holder to the first end of the 2-way splitter. Insert a GU10 LED bulb into this lamp holder and then twist it into your recessed spotlight. Connect an extension cable to the second end of the 2-way splitter. Connect another 2-way splitter to the extension cable. Connect the next 3 lights in the same way as the first light. Connect the final light without a 2-way splitter. Here, you connect the GU10 lamp holder directly to the extension cable.

Outdoor lighting example for connecting 5 ground spotlights:

First, connect the plug to a 2-way splitter. Connect a junction box to the first end of the 2-way splitter. Insert the cable from the ground spotlight into this junction box. Connect them together by securing them in the terminal block inside the junction box. Insert a GU10 LED bulb into the ground spotlight for the lighting. Connect an extension cable to the second end of the 2-way splitter. Connect another 2-way splitter to the extension cable. Connect the next 3 ground spotlights in the same way as the first ground spotlight. Connect the final ground spotlight without a 2-way splitter. Here, you connect the junction box directly to the extension cable.

Because the lights can be connected using extension cables, they can be placed throughout the garden or in a large room.
