Brocante lamp
Brocante mood lighting or functional lighting? Make a lighting plan!
Choosing the right lighting is an important part of furnishing your home. Due to the wide range of lamps, it is sometimes difficult to make a choice. There are all kinds of lamps and you may not know in advance exactly which lighting fits in the picture. Making a lighting plan makes it easier. When creating a lighting plan, you consider where you need which lighting. Where are the connection points? In which places do you need extra lighting and where do you need less? In a lighting plan you make a floor plan in advance so that you know where which lamp will be placed. With a lighting plan, you divide the lighting into two types: basic lighting and mood lighting.
Basic lighting is the general lighting, these are the lamps that you switch on as soon as you enter the house. This lighting provides the most light and is above all functional. Examples of basic lighting are hanging lamps above the dining table and ceiling spotlights. In addition to basic lighting, it is important that the mood lighting is not lacking. The name actually says it all; mood lighting creates the atmosphere. Brocante table lamps are very suitable as mood lighting. They are often lights with a warm and cozy appearance. If you choose a flea table lamp with a fabric shade, you automatically get soft lighting because the shade does not let the light through as brightly. In addition to light, atmospheric lighting therefore provides cosiness in an important place. Brocante table lamps can also be used as functional lighting; then choose, for example, a directional light so that you can highlight certain items.
