Ways to light up your bathroom

There are several ways to illuminate your bathroom. Bathroom lighting by means of recessed spotlights is one of them. The advantage of multiple bathroom recessed spotlights is that they distribute the light evenly throughout your entire bathroom. When choosing these recessed spotlights, it is important that they are suitable for use in the bathroom, they must therefore be stainless and water resistant.

When you choose to install spotlights in the ceiling of the bathroom, it is important that the IP value is high enough. A recessed spot with an IP value of IP44 is splash-proof and is therefore suitable for use in the bathroom ceiling above, for example, the sink. If the recessed spot is mounted in a place where it comes into direct contact with water, it is wise to opt for bathroom recessed spots with a value of IP65 or higher.

There are so-called bathroom zones for bathrooms. Different requirements apply to electrical equipment in each zone:

Zone 0: Underwater: So the space in the shower tray or bath.
Zone 1: Much contact with water. So directly above the bath or shower tray up to a height of 2.25 meters.
Zone 2: Splashing water. So for the shower or bath with a radius of 60 cm.
Zone 3: No contact with water.
