3-phase track lighting

With a 3-phase rail, there are 4 conductors in the rail, 3x a phase conductor (L) and a common neutral conductor / earth wire (N). With 3-phase rails , 3 phase wires (L1, L2, L3) are used, each of which can be combined separately with the neutral wire (N). This creates the possibility to make three different circuits on your rail. All three can be operated separately. In order to effectively use the three circuits of the 3-phase rail, it must be connected to a five-core electrical cable.

Advantages of 3-phase track lighting

Provides the ability to operate each circuit separately
There is more choice in 3-phase luminaires than in 1-phase luminaires
Easier to install than a 1-phase rail. Also firmer and more stable
Can also be used as a 1-phase track (or 2-phase track)
3 times as much power can be created

Track lighting components

The rail parts from different manufacturers are almost never interchangeable. So if you have a certain brand of rail, it can only be expanded with parts of the same brand. In addition, it is also important to know that the spots can only be clicked into the rail in one way. For both the spots and connecting pieces, the connection must be smooth. If not, the connector or power supply is probably reversed.
