Halogen lights

E27 halogen lamps

General information

The life of the light bulb sets a limit to the temperature. As the filament metal evaporates over time, this results in a 10 to 20% reduction in light output.

A halogen lamp has been worked on various ways to extend the life of the filament and to increase the light output. Halogen lamps become much hotter than conventional incandescent lamps. If people touch the lamp with their fingers, there is a chance that the organic residues that remain on the lamp itself will cause brown spots when burning due to carbonization. These dark residues ensure greater heating of the lamp, which considerably shortens the service life.
